AN ODE TO A SURVIVOR 1994-2014 (20Years and still going) LIFETIME SURVIVAL AWARD 2014: CITATION: First in 1994 and then in 2008. Chemotherapy, Radiotherapy, several surgeries. You survived all. Thereafter, chemotherapy induced heart failure. I remember taking you for a medical appointment when the heart failure started, we walked in, the doctor was to start a test and panic alarms, he couldnt believe you had walked the short distance from the car park into the surgery, the heart was barely pumping anything Ejection Fraction was at its lowest....he made a quick call to the Royal Free Hospital and he asked that I drive to ER immediately with instructions for you to to be admitted on arrival, lest that was it... Again you survived. In addition to that, you had other life matters and challenges including me as No 1. Culprit to contend with, yet you continued to look forward and up..and wow, through it all, with the permanent smile on your face wherever and everywhere you went, going on to raise four amazing daughters (oftentimes on your own as I was in Lagos mostly) , running and growing a successful business, developing yourself in the things of God and never looking back. As we celebrate Breast Cancer Month 2014, 20 years on from the first fight The Girls and I raise our toast to a most remarkable woman, a survivor, as we honour you Titilola Testimony Titimony Kikelomo Balogun with the LIFETIME SURVIVAL AWARD 2014. May the LORD continue to bless and keep you and prosper you in health and wealth. May he perfect all that concerns you healthwise and beyond. May He grant you long life to live to see the girls children and childrens children. SMILING, LAUGHING & DANCING...No Matter What........
