ANNOUNCEMENT: NEW 2013/2014 LEADERSHIP COMMITTEE ELECTED – HELLO & WELCOME Hi ACS Family, We hope you are well, enjoying the weather and had a positive year. After an interesting year gone, last year’s leadership has handed the baton over and a new committee is in place, looking forward to a new year. A thanks must go out on behalf of the members for carrying the society forward and the progress made. As many will know the original AGM was scheduled and subsequently cancelled. So as not to risk the society being made dormant by the union, a very late AGM was held before the deadline. So on the 29th of May 2013 the 2013/2013 AGM was held. Gordon was elected to the position of 1st V.President, responsible for Projects and External Relations Trey was elected to the position of 2nd V.President, responsible for Events & Activities. Dolapo was elected to the committee as a committee member. It is unfortunate that the position of President was unable to be elected. Therefore the interim arrangement is that the 1st V.President will also take on the position of Acting-President. The President’s position will be reopened for elections. The intention is that nominations will officially open in September at Freshers’ Fayre and elections will take place in October at the Meet & Greet. Any interested persons can express their interest from now by the contact details below (preferably email). At the moment the leadership committee are busy setting visions, planning, organising and doing administrative stuff for the coming year. Please remember we are doing this work for no financial pay so it is important you show appreciation, get involved, share ideas and help each other to make this a productive year. We hope to work with more members and partners to deliver our mission. Keep up to date, look out for announcements and most importantly be in touch with the society. We will be looking for the right people to join the leadership/management team.
