APGA-USA condemns politics of ethnicity, religion POSTED ON WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 11TH, 2013 By Felix Uka/Abakaliki The All Progressives Grand Alliance, United States of American (APGA-USA) chapter, has condemned politicians and institutions who adopt ethnicity, religion, domicile to stir fear, cause insecurity to the Nigerian electorate. The party in a document authored by the APGA-USA National Chairman, Kpajie Onochie, and the General Secretary, Okwukwe Ibiam, stated that such policies and postures are for selfish political ends. Obviously reacting to the deportation of some Ndigbo from Lagos State, they declared to utilize all internationally known legal resource to assist APGA in Nigeria to bring to book any persons who may engage in such strategies that threaten the law-abiding Nigerians. “Chapter IV of the 1999 Nigerian constitution is clear on the fundamental rights of the Nigerian citizen within Nigeria. The lives of law-abiding citizens must not be determined by the politically and legally ignorant. We, The National Executive and members of the APGA USA Foundation, doff our hats and congratulate the National Chairman, APGA Nigeria, Chief Victor Umeh KSJ; the National Secretary, Alhaji Sani Shinkafi, on their tenacity, and those of the few good men from the APGA National Working Committee (NWC), who held together during our party’s perilous hour”, they stated. The APGA USA said they were looking forward to the multiplication of such principled edge, and an electoral abundance arising from focused and ethical stands of the APGA leadership in Nigeria. “You must note that Nigerian electorate are now buoyed by the iconic representation you have come to assume. They further look to your leadership and representation on these ethos during discourse affecting their welfare in the National polity”. They stressed that party discipline was required to move APGA, its members and party programmes forward to the benefit of the long-suffering electorate. “We ask all party adherents to first, think how to gether with the current party leadership. We can move the party and its programmes forward to gain further electoral ground, before anything else. “APGA should not be silent on thorny national issues directly affecting our electorate. APGA USA will remind that while peaceful coexistence is paramount within the polity, it cannot be achieved through passivity. An articulate and precise opinion statement reflecting our stand on current issues of national importance is in order. Our electorate is highly reassured at such voicing. Our contemporaries, precisely informed. VOTE CHIEF WILLIE OBIANO FOR ANAMBRA STATE GOVERNOR
