ASEAN trio - 2012 Exactly 2 years since we departed Hanoi to ride our ASEAN trip but we still not yet finish the report of our unforgettable trip. This has been our dream for many year about riding across our ASEAN, visiting our friendly country, facing with the new culture, meeting with our scooter friends especially with our small wheel – vespa. Across Vietnam (2008) and Indochina (2011) is part of the preparation for this project. These 2 trip help us much on how to form the core team, organize a trip and also a lot of necessary thing (walkie talkie, navigation, technical and logistic preparation,). The first preparation is searching the experience in all rider and tourism forum. From Phuot.vn, the biggest backpacker site in Vietnam, we found some useful trip but they could go to Thailand only. They also even did not sure whether they can bring their bike into Thailand again or not. Strangely, this depend much on the cross border, the custom officer not on their bike document. From Adventure Rider, Golden Triangle rider, there is also some useful info but same in Phuot, not sure even via the same border with the same bike. We also found 1 similar trip on TTVN organize by anh Tuan Tran , an adventure touring agent for ACE Saigon club to attend to Sepang MotoGP in Malaysia and ride back to Vietnam. Unluckily, the trip was cancel due to Thai flood but I did immediately contact with him. Thanks to that, we gain a lot of info and experience for the trip. Such a kindly guy, for sure, you can ask for the same from him.
