ATTENTION! IMPORTANT NOTICE To: All Indigenous People of Biafra resident in the United Kingdom & Northern Ireland This NOTICE is for the rescheduled Meeting of all indigenous people of Biafra residing in the United Kingdom including Northern Ireland which was postponed few weeks ago for some important reasons. I give this NOTICE by the Order and Directive of the Supreme Council of Elders of Indigenous People of Biafra which runs the Customary Law Government of Indigenous People of Biafra in Biafraland. The Supreme Council of Elders, as a customary law government under the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999, has started to gather together all the remnants of the Biafrans who were scattered all over world since after the Nigerian-Biafran war. Ohaneze Ndigbo is pro-Igbo and not pro-Biafra, and therefore cannot provide leadership for the remnants of the Biafrans who were not consumed in the war. It is only the Supreme Council of Elders of Indigenous People of Biafra that has members from all parts of Biafraland including the South-South and Middle Belt. Under the Nigerian Legal System and the Customary Laws applicable to the Eastern Region and the Middle Belt where the Biafrans dwell, it is the duty of the Council of Elders to gather their children together like a household and provide leadership and guidance. This is what the Supreme Council of Elders has started to do now, to put the house of the Biafrans in order as we wait for whatever will happen to Nigeria, whether good or bad. The Elders of the North and the West have gathered their own children together. The spiritual signs in the Nigerian sky are ominous and it is wise for the Elders to gather their children together. Please take notice that the OFFICE OF INDIGENOUS PEOPLE OF BIAFRA has been established in the United Kingdom and recognized by the British Government with the power to carry out the duties pertaining to the self-determination of the Biafran people by the rule of law in addition to other functions. The Supreme Council of Elders of Indigenous People of Biafra has also contacted the Governments of some powerful countries in the international community regarding our independence struggle. The Federal Government of Nigeria is aware of our struggle for independence and has joined issues with us in court. The Office of Indigenous People of Biafra shall act as the Diplomatic Mission for ALL INDIGENOUS PEOPLE OF BIAFRA residing in the UK and Northern Ireland which will transform to Biafran Embassy in due course. At the moment, Biafra is not yet a Republic and therefore not a sovereign State but we have established our identity as a people seeking for independence. This is why we are in Court with Nigeria. The case in the Federal High Court Owerri between Biafra and Nigeria has legalized the Biafran Struggle and removed the fear of persecution for being a Biafran. For the sake of emphasis, I assert again that we are Biafrans by indigenous identity but Nigerians by citizenship until we gain independence from Nigeria, just as the people of Scotland are British by citizenship but Scots by indigenous identity. Following the decisions of various Pro-Biafra Groups at home and abroad to submit to the authority of The Supreme Council of Elders of Indigenous People of Biafra, the Council has instructed me as the Solicitor for Indigenous People of Biafra in Suit No FHC/OW/CS/192/2013 to convene a meeting of all the Biafrans in the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland irrespective of their groups for a very crucial meeting. The Agenda will be disclosed at the Meeting. The meeting is scheduled as follows: Date: Sunday 27th July 2014 Time: 5.00pm (We are strict with Time Management. Indiscipline with time is not allowed) Venue: Wally Foster Community Centre, Marsh Hill, Homerton Road, London, E9 5QB. CAVEAT: TAKE NOTICE that this Meeting is convened by the authority of the Supreme Council of Elders of Indigenous People of Biafra for ALL INDIGENOUS PEOPLE OF BIAFRA living in the UK and Northern Ireland irrespective of their groups. The only persons not permitted to attend this Meeting are those who have been ostracised by the Supreme Council of Elders by a Disclaimer and Public Notice under our customary law. The Council operates a Customary Law Government as provided by the Nigerian Constitution. By our native law and custom, if a person is ostracised, he is expected to perform certain things to appease the elders and the land before he would be accepted in the community. This is a disciplinary measure under our Customary Law as upheld by the Supreme Court of Nigeria. TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that this Meeting is not for the share-holders and staff of the Company known as Indigenous People of Biafra Limited registered in England as a company limited by shares. Please spread this NOTICE OF MEETING and invite ALL INDIGENOUS PEOPLE OF BIAFRA living in the UK and Northern Ireland.
