AWESOME NEWS - Remember these three beauties we pulled from a high intake shelter to live in our FeLV+ Cottage? They had all tested FeLV+ :-( As is our policy, we retested and all three still showed positive. So, the next step is the IFA test, Dawne and Blinky came back as positive. Once you have an FeLV IFA positive test, it has entered their bone marrow, so we release them into the Feline Leukemia positive cottage with the others. However, Dappers came back negative. So we waited a bit before retesting with only the blood serum. Today that happened and he is NEGATIVE!!! This really shows the importance of retesting and doing IFA tests on FeLV+ cats. Dapper had at least 2 positive test results but had a negative IFA and on retest the 3 time, he is negative! So happy for Dapper, now who wants to adopt this adorable sweet social FeLV negative kitty?? *cyndi
