Aathira Murali from Thirumala, Thiruvananthapuram and Sreekanth Hariharan from Thiruvananthapuram has crowned the Malabar Cements Unni Menon Swaralaya Yuvagayaka Puraskaram 2014. Swaralaya Palakkad Chapter with the support of Malabar Cements limited organised the event from among the 48 participants who were the prize winners of university and state school kalotsavams in kerala. The award consists of a cash prize of Rs 50000/-(Rupees fifty thousand), one sovereign gold, memento and citation. Famous musicians Sri. Kallara Gopan, Sri. K. L. Sreeram, Sri. Arakkal Nandakumar and Sri. Pradeep Somasundaram were the members of the jury. Aathira sung the song Sugha sandra nadamayi from film Sooryachakram in Unni Menon Songs round and the song Sudhamanthram from film Devadasi in Favourite songs round to win the title. Aathira was the winner in television music reality shows munch star singer and Indian voice. Sreekanth sung the song Porale ponnuthayi from the film karuthamma in Unni Menon round and the song Anjali anjali from the film duet in favourite song round. Sreekanth Hariharan, a student of architecture engineering in College of architecture, Thiruvananthapuram was the son of playbacksinger Smt. B. Arundathi and was the finalist in many reality shows. Kum. Anu Mariya Rose, daughter of musician Sri. Sebi Nayarambalam from Ernakulam won the second and Kum. Amrita Rajan from Perumbavoor bagged the third prize in Girls section. Sri. Deepak J R from Vadagara won the second prize and Sri. Keerthan Berny, son of music director Berny won the third prize in boys section.
