About the time I left the Alano Club the other day (after Thanksgiving dinner and the ignoble crashing of the dinner table), my FFF Michael texted me & axed me if I wanted to go see HORRIBLE BOSSES 2. By that time, my chin was about dragging on the cement and I wasnt sure, but I said yes, deciding I needed some comic relief to put the cap onto a basically sh*tty day. Am glad I went...the movie was a scream. :-) A great sequel to the first one, with most of the original cast, plus the addition of Chris Pine and Christoph Waltz as 2 utterly reprehensible father & son villains. Jason Bateman, Jason Sudeikis & Charlie Day are the new 3 Stooges--their performances in both of these films give slapstick a whole new twist, and its easy to tell that a lot of their lines are improvised--a schtick which is becoming more & more popular in todays comedy films. Jennifer Aniston is the nymphomaniacal dentist Julia Harris again, Kevin Spacey has a brief but hysterical return as prison-bound former horrible boss Dave Harken, and thank the gods, Jaime Foxx is back as soft-drink-slurping criminal mastermind Motherfu**er Jones. Also along for the ride is Jonathan Banks (hitman Mike Ehrmentraut from BREAKING BAD) as tough-as-nails Detective Hatcher. The humor in both of these films could classify as a HEAVY R-rating (especially the exchanges between Bateman & Aniston, which left me & the theater audience howling with laughter), so if you fall into the prude category, this movies not for you or your date. But, as is often said, if you loved the first film, youll probably love this one, too.
