About to wrap up my research session on PLU here in Baltimore. Just found out a few cool tidbits: the current president is an Air Force Academy grad, served 20 years active duty, and retired as a Lt. Col. Hes also a professor of English, specializing in West Caribbean studies. Jamaica, man. (My parents were both active duty USAF - mom was a pediatric nurse and dad ended up in Logistics. Mom retired as a 1st Lt although she outranked Dad at the time of their marriage in 1963 and Dad as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1982. He would have stayed in longer but he would have been transferred back to California in the midst of our moms battle with cancer. He loved the USAF and wanted his kids to sign up. But he loved us and didnt want to add to the turmoil of our teenage years. And then he met Polly Brown, fell madly in love, and relished 27 years of life with her. If we had moved back to CA, JT & Polly might not have ever met. Ill give a shout out to my favorite AFA cadet, Whitney Briggs - enjoy Thanksgiving with your family and friends!!
