Abstract: The structures crescent shape stood out in the landscape, Wachtel told Live Science in an email. The shape may have had symbolic importance, as the lunar crescent is a symbol of an ancient Mesopotamian moon god named Sin, Wachtel said. An ancient town called Bet Yerah (which translates to house of the moon god) And if you are wondering how connected the Moon GOD Sin is to El Shaddai and Yahweh, you might enjoy the following chapter in my article: thejackelscolumn.wordpress/2014/01/17/yahweh-a-volcano-fire-god-of-war-chapter-2/ El Shaddai, the God of Abraham is essentially the same deity as Sin as their associations are through the name Amurru. Hence further, Mt Sinai means Moon Mountain and El Shaddai means God of the Mountains andbêlu šadī or bêl šadê, ‘lord of the mountain; dúr-hur-sag-gá sikil-a-ke, ‘He who dwells on the pure mountain; and kur-za-gan ti-[la], ‘who inhabits the shining mountain’. Abraham came from the City of Ur where the worship of the Moon god was prevalent, and upon arriving at the city of Shaddai he customarily took on the worship of the patron deity El Shaddai. Further more, and in regards to Exodus, The only known exodus from Egypt was the eviction of the Hyksos sometime around 1560 BC. The interesting part about this is that the Hyksos were of Asiatic origin from lower Canaan and Syria.. Their Asiatic deity was Baal Haran to whom was attested to the Moon GOD Sin. Their eviction was likely the result of the loss of power shortly after the Thera Eruption to which triggered the collapse of the Bronze Age and the Canaanite civilization. Hence their hold to power largely depended on trade with the Minoans and the Babylonians, and after the Eruption the Minoan civilization was destroyed along with the economic stability of the Levant region. There was disorder and the Hyksos were evicted as a result.. So it is possible that the Hyksos returned to their Asiatic roots in lower Canaan and Syria, and joined the semi-nomadic tribes.. One in particular being the Shasu of YHW, a possible origin of Yahweh to whom was one of the 70 sons of El.. And at some point, Yahwists usurped the Canaanite pantheon into the persona of Yahweh, and thus equating Yahweh to his father El Shaddai. Thus its clear to note that there is no distinction between the Isrealites and the Canaanites, and that Yahweh, Sin, and El Shaddai are all of Canaan origin rooted largely in Moon and Mountain god worship to which at some point after the Eruption of Thera had merged together. This along with the rest of the Pantheon into a single persona to which in turn gave birth to Monotheism in the Canaanite civilization. A concept that didnt fully take root until sometime around 650 BC, or sometime around the Second Isaiah. Cheers, and Happy biblical history day! :)
