According to Buddhism there are no outer enemies. The only enemies - TopicsExpress

According to Buddhism there are no outer enemies. The only enemies we need to vanquish are the inner enemies of our delusions. Buddha defined a delusion “as a mental factor that arises from inappropriate attention and that functions to make the mind unpeaceful and uncontrolled”. In other words, a delusion is a state of mind such as anger, jealousy or desirous attachment that exaggerates the good or bad qualities of an object and then causes our mind to become unpeaceful and uncontrolled. The essence of the Buddhist path is to gain control over our own mind through meditation and then to gradually reduce and eventually eradicate our delusions. The mind is like the sky and the delusions are like clouds. Once we have succeeded in removing the delusions from our own mind our mind will be peaceful and clear like a cloudless sky and we will experience only happiness. - Modern Buddhism Geshe Kelsang Gyatso
