Acid attack on college girl in Kashmir capital Thursday, 11 December 2014 07:16Srinagar: A young woman suffered horrific injuries after having corrosive liquid thrown in her face outside her college in Jammu and Kashmir’s Summer capital Srinagar. The 21-year-old girl was outside her law college in Soura when unknown persons sprinkled acid on her face leading to serious injuries. Her friends told the Kashmir Dispatch that as the girl was nearing her college in Tawheed abad some persons on a motorcycle halted in front of her and suddenly squirted the acid from a bottle .Police confirmed that the girl from Alche Bagh locality was attacked by acid. Shewas shifted to SK Institute of Medical Sciences in Soura. Doctors at the hospital said they shifted her to JVC medical college and hospital as she hadinjuries in eyes. Eyewitnesses said she ran screaming across the road as the liquid burned into her skin and hair following the morning attack. Local residents ran from their homes to pour water over the victim’s head and body in a desperate bid to wash away the substance .Police said they were investigating the matter and refused to say if the suspect was known to the victim...
