Acts 20:17-21 From Miletus he sent a message to Ephesus, telling the elders of the church to come to him. When they arrived, he said to them, “You yourselves know how I lived the whole time I was with you, from the first day I set foot in the province of Asia, serving the Lord with all humility and with tears, and with the trials that happened to me because of the plots of the Jews. You know that I did not hold back from proclaiming to you anything that would be helpful, and from teaching you publicly and from house to house, testifying to both Jews and Greeks about repentance toward God and faith in our Lord Jesus. Paul’s example to us is one of commitment and cost that preserves the integrity of the gospel and glorifies God. His walk for God has been emotionally trying, and that is nothing to be ashamed of. He is passionate that all would hear the gospel and for many to receive it. Paul seems to have lived on the mission field, but whether on the mission field, or at home, we can share his fervor for the gospel to go forth. Today is a call that our hearts would experience compassion for the lost. Matthew 5:16 says, “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Live unashamed of the gospel, and unashamed of Jesus Christ who saved you from certain eternal death. Let your light shine! Verse/Commentary courtesy of Verse-A-Day app. verse-a-day/Apps
