After 3 years, FINALLY! I have been trying to find someone willing to do some of the hard work in my landscape design with no luck. Everyone I contacted, who claimed to be a landscaper, turned out to be a guy with a ZTR, a trailer, a pickup and a few weed eaters. They came out, we walked the property discussing what I want them to do and they were to get back to me with an estimate. Never heard from them again - hence my descriptive conclusion. About 3 weeks ago I found a business advertising itself as landscape designers, etc. so I called. Today the guy came over and we did the tour = he actually got out a tape and measured the area I want help with! Surprise!! :) We discussed my plan and how I would have to work to get it done. He has no problem breaking the job up into parts that I can pay for as we go. They ALSO do patio and deck design, etc. I want to replace my back deck and make some changes but need help with the structural components. I said that if they measured for posts and marked areas for footings, I can mix the concrete and pour also can lay the decking once all of the framing is set up. He has no problem with that. Turns out he is a neighbor and both he and his wife, who does floral design, are Air Force Vets. We talked about my greenhouse - they are putting up two greenhouses on their place as we plan my stuff. Am I thrilled. Now I can really get busy on some of those things that have been hanging fire.
