After 48 years of consistent, deep disappointment with so-called government leaders of all stripes (left: Ill take your liberty and give it to my socialist friends. right: Ill take your liberty and give it to my mercantilist friends), I am forced to say: I am very proud of Canadas Prime Minister. Not just because he enrages the vocal minorities of every stripe that hate liberty and life (although that it awesome), but because he unabashedly stands against powerful thugs (Putin vs. Ukraine), cults of misogyny and death (pretty much the entire middle east vs. Israel), etc. that seem to cow lesser leaders into silence. Stephen Harper to Putin (from bloomberg/news/2014-11-15/harper-uses-handshake-to-tell-putin-he-must-get-out-of-ukraine-.html): “I guess I’ll shake your hand but I have only one thing to say to you: you need to get out of Ukraine,” Harper told Putin, the prime minister’s spokesman Jason MacDonald said in an e-mail. Putin’s response to the comment wasn’t positive, MacDonald said, without elaborating. Putin and Harper talked briefly, according to Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov. “Indeed Harper told Putin that Russia should leave Ukraine,” Peskov said by phone today in Brisbane. “Putin told him that this is impossible because they are not there.”
