After 6 long days, Tytan is finally home!! Now for his story. - TopicsExpress

After 6 long days, Tytan is finally home!! Now for his story. Tytan was adopted Saturday, Sept 27th. He was shy, and didnt even eat much. Newly adopted dogs do that sometimes because of the change in homes, and people. On Sunday, Sept 28th the worst happened. Someone went to go out the door, and Tytan found a spot, and ran out. He crossed the road and disappeared in a field and was gone. They looked and looked for Tytan but couldnt find him. He was sporting his new harness. On Tuesday night, Sept 30th I saw a post on another page that he had been found. I didnt think he had so I contacted his family, and sure enough he had NOT been found. The only sighting of Tytan at that time had been about a 1/4 mile through the woods walking near a pond, then he disappeared. Wednesday a new sighting came in!! He was still in the same area, but had crossed the road to the other side of Village Rd. I contacted Animal Resource Center to borrow their coyote trap, and started to get things in motion. Thursday we got the trap there, and set up for the night in an area I wasnt real confident about, but we couldnt go to the other area because we couldnt get permission because of deer season opening up the coming Saturday. (today in fact!) So we set up where we had permission, not far from his sighting, but just not close enough because of all the woods. Tina and I stayed in the car that night to check the trap every 3 hrs or so because we were a little over an hour away from home, and couldnt make the trips each time we checked the trap. We made our rounds at about 3 am, and guess who I saw under a tree looking for food, in the same spot he had been seen, but Tytan!!! But as soon as I stopped the car, off he ran like a bullet. We even made a trail all the way to the trap, but no Tytan. We saw a little path into the woods and up a hill to a house and figured thats where he may have ran, but we didnt know. We stayed until about 7 am, coming back to Muncy during the night to let my dog out, and back down to that area once again. By morning, no Tytan, and we didnt see him again that night. I decided I was going to talk to some people further up the road where the sightings had been, and see if I could get permission to be on their property. Tytans owners called and got permission to come and set up in some areas, so off I went to Hunlock Creek again. We were checking out the areas, and guess who was coming down that path?? TYTAN!! He saw us and once again took off, but this time going up that path to a house that was there. Then we learned something we didnt know! Tytan had been seen there going behind her house, and even on her porch that day drinking water she left for him, even this very day! Great!! We had a perfect spot, and quickly set things up. I stayed until about 11:30 then headed home for the night, and they were going to monitor the trap last night so I could rest. But again, no Tytan, only a cat at 3 am. :( I called the owners of that property and ask them if I could possibly set up closer up the hill to their house, and while she was talking to me she said hang on a minute. I was wondering what was going on when she came back on the phone and said he is standing up on the door looking in the house right now :) Wow!! She had already reported that he was sleeping on her porch this morning, and had been there many times, even following her to the garden, following behind her barking at her!! I told her there must be something about her, or the house that reminded him of someone. She said well Im hoping thats in a good way and he doesnt bite me and she laughed. I assured her he wouldnt bite, but rather was intrigued by her for some reason. Tytan had only been here to his new home 24 hrs, and only about 2 months with the woman who was fostering him before this. He was taking his time warming up to anyone as well. I finished planning our evening so we could set something up right at her house, but make an atmosphere that would invite him into the trap. Not even 10 min after I got off the phone with Tytans owners to let them know we would meet at their house, then go to this house, my phone rang. I just KNEW when it rang it was good. :) Thats when Jill said she got him!!! We are going for him!! Omg, we were so happy, and I waited patiently for the details. Well the woman at the house where he was on her porch and following her, went outside to get some tomatoes, and who came right over next to her but Tytan!!! She said all she had was a piece of very thin rope, but she quick used it as a leash and told him to please dont pull away from her. He didnt! After all, she is what he wanted! We will never know what his first owners looked like, and can only assume that something with this wonderful lady reminded him of his home in his past, but we are so glad for it. I went to finally meet the little guy who kept me up for a couple nights, and give him a hug. :) He allowed me to even pick him up, and he is even acting different around them now! Tytan had lost his harness somewhere within those 6 days. He is thin, and has many ticks, but he is safe!!! He had his bath, and is being pampered like a king!! I once again have an awesome village to thank for helping us get Tytan to safety! Thank you Tina for spending the night in the car with me, its not easy. Thanks to Tytans family for welcoming us into their homes as if they knew us forever, even feeding me an awesome supper last night!! Thank you goes out to Susie for once again making the flyers. Thanks goes out to Animal Resource Center for allowing me use of their trap once again, and my wonderful friend Marianne Potter for transporting it again. Thanks to all the awesome people on Village road who kept watch for him, and told us of the sightings. Thanks to Liz for allowing us access to her property the first night, and Kim for allowing us access last night, which led into our discovery of where he has been hiding. A HUGE thank you goes out to Monica, the woman who leashed him!! I want to add that the family told me that even when they went to get him, he continued to stare at Monica like he knew her! ;) And thank you all for sharing and caring!!!! WELCOME HOME TYTAN!!!
