After a 41 year wait, the audio and video recordings of one of the epic concerts of all time was finally released last year. I discovered the set yesterday and am reliving one of my favorite summers. The Sunshine Daydream concert was a benefit for the Springfield Creamery at the Renaissance Faire site in Veneta Oregon on August 27th, 1972 - the summer I graduated high school. Performing for the benefit of their friend, Ken Kesey, The Grateful Dead gave a performance that many have called the best of their long career. I havent yet watched the DVD, but the CDs are awesome. I am questioning my Deadhead credentials because it took me a year to find out that it had been released. Many of those among my friends are former classmates who were there.......others are Deadheads who may have been there........some are Deadheads who werent born yet and they really need to hear this concert to understand what it was like to be a part of it all in Oregon in 1972. https://youtube/watch?v=1UHpx72ifdE
