After calling the NJ Labor, and 3 insurance carriers. I must - TopicsExpress

After calling the NJ Labor, and 3 insurance carriers. I must repeat my former statements. Love the duck!. If you dont have the duck, get the duck. They make it so easy. And they cover you for things like short-term disability, even if you return partial status, they still pay 100% for as long as youre working < 80% pre-disability income/status. NJ state drops you to the curb if you return >0 hrs. PVT insurance will pickup and cover you for what the state does not, however PVT insurance makes it a freken nightmare. At first it was forms back and forth with my PCP. Since my PCP was not filling it all out, I had to nuke from orbit and get my complete medical record and fax to them to get approved > 1 week. I did that. They paid. Now that solved the lack of any payout problem, but it also showed them notes on other Dr.s Ive seen. So to make it harder they then faxed (every doctor Ive seen in the last 3 months) asking for records. Good news is all those specialists filled out and replied right away. Except one who called me to alert me they got a call. We were confused. So we decided to not have them fill it out until I understood why. It took me a week to get up the mental energy to start making the calls to figure out whats going on. I get why now. So they are filling it out. Even better news is PVT insurance will cover me up to today, without any addtl information from my PCP. Thank GOD cuz as much as hes a great doctor. Form filling out is not his offices best works. In fact after the 3rd re-filing of state information, they put the wrong date for disabled since. They put something like Todays date, as in date of form filling out. Now he(they) have to write to the state, on their letter head, We errored. Apparently that Error cost me 8 weeks of coverage. It will be rectified. It will take 2 weeks for my PCP to write such a letter. It will take 7-10 days (really 20) for the state to receive, read, review, process it. So.. thats.. 5 weeks from today. Might be a good birthday present for me :) Although next year around this time I will be cursing up a storm trying to fill out my 1040 tax forms... lols..
