After establishing the first muslim state in Madina, prophet saw ordered muslims to dinguishes their behaviour and activities from the Jews. For example he asked sahaba ra to do what jews dislike, to wear leather socks in prayer, dye with the Hinna( for men), to use Miswak. Prophet used to have fast on the 10th of Muharram, which was common in Jews, ( jews fast on 10th Muharrm because Moses asw was liberated from pharoah on this day). So Prophet sew declaredif i lived next year i wud keep fast on 9th & 10th. On the 9th to distinguish muslims from jews and on the 10th becauseMoses belongs to us more than he belongs to jews.
