After giving it some thought while at work, I came to the conclusion that although I did not completely agree with Kourtneys initial position on a post she did, she inadvertently did something of significance in that post. A lot of you all know her from here and other groups, and she is not shy about broadcasting her achievements, and the lifestyle she has gained. I notice that when she begins talking about her accomplishments, Black people get offended. Which brings me to my point: 1. Black people have deep insecurities and inferiority complexes. You always hear Black people talk about the need for financial prosperity and economics. But when a Black person with money actually shows up, they become insecure. Having money is not just a material possession, theres also an attitude associated with it. Call it bourgeoisie, call it snobby, call it elitist, but until you reach that financial plateau, you dont understand the acquired arrogance of the financially stable. 2. The preferred coping mechanism for most Blacks is to attempt to diminish one who they feel is massaging their laurels. But instead of being envious, you should indeed be inspired. Kourtney made a statement saying she doesnt associate with people who make less than 90k or dont have advanced degrees. Instead of trying to get her to lower her standards maybe it is us who need to raise ours. 3. She also stated that she doesnt deal with men below a certain income level. Interestingly enough, we always see Black men preaching to Black women about accepting bums and losers. But when a Black woman actually does what Black men say they should do, Black men are offended.
