After last nights shoot I really want to talk about the strength - TopicsExpress

After last nights shoot I really want to talk about the strength of some of the actors I have had the pleasure to work with. I have been blessed to have worked with two young actresses on two projects who really went beyond the call of duty and fought through some tough shoots and some awful pain and suffering to get the job done for the films I have worked on. And for what they have done, they have my never ending respect and appreciation and love. It was on my first film working with actress Julie Streble, who spent most of our very long days in an unheated warehouse, barefoot and wearing nothing but a skimpy French Maid Halloween costume. While I and the other cast and crew were bundled up in layers, she fought through the pain and cold (some days were 15-30 degrees outside) to play Max in Girl Number Three. She never complained and never showed us signs of what she was dealing with. Some days she couldnt feel her hands and feet but never told us. One day she was doused with frozen blood that our make-up team had left out and it had frozen. So she was basically covered in very cold fake blood on one shoot. I do not know how she handled it. Which brings me to my leading lady on my new film, The Encyclopedia Satanica which is part of the Volumes of Blood horror anthology film, Kristine Renee Farley Kristine on our shoots has been fighting through tremendous lower back pain due to some severe damage to discs in her spine. An injury I know all too well having dealt with it myself since 2009. I know the pain she is going through--how it pretty much can stop you in your tracks. Standing or walking even 5 feet is a chore. A painful chore. It effects you emotionally and physically. It is a constant pain that is crippling. On two shoots, Kristine has soldiered through this tremendous amount of pain--taking falls, fighting her co-star and running. These are activities I would not have had the ability to perform when I was in her situation. Hell, they are activities I could not perform today without terrible pain following. Not only did Kristine shoot for 4 hours last night in this horrendous pain but she had spent all morning and afternoon shooting on another film 3.5 hours away. After soldiering through that shoot, she drove 3.5 hours to our set to be there for 5 hours to do some very physical work. Then drove 3.5 hours back to be on set today for the other film. This is beyond the call of duty. I am in awe of the professionalism and dedication to the project that she has given me. And will forever be grateful for it. Just amazed. Thank you Kristine and Julie. You girls are tougher than I am.
