After our sojourn at Bullock creek...its is a truly beautiful place to hang out for a bit, lots of native bush, huge limestone crags and lots of caving...we headed for Charleston where I had another dive in the Winch Head resurgence. On the last dive I turned back after running out of line 50 metres from the entrance. On this last dive I reeled out 220 metres of line into truly gob smacking passage. Basically it was a tube about 2 to 3 metres in diameter at a depth of around 14 to 16 metres. Vis was in excess of 10 metres. At one point I groveled up a vertical rift and surfaced. At the end of the rift I could see into a huge chamber, unfortunately the rift was too narrow to negotiate with two huge tanks on. The way on was back down at 16 metres. At one stage it looked like a rock fall had blocked the way, however I managed to haul out a couple of rocks and wriggled through a little hole and back into the tube again. 150 metres along the tube and I came to another choice, up or down, I went up, surfaced in a small air bell then 20 metres of more underwater passage I surfaced again in a narrow canyon. This was definitely off route. Heading back down to 16 metres I couldnt find the deep lead so headed home. Looking forward to getting back there :-)
