Aftermath of Nyako: I pray Hon Fintiri Sustain the Tempo:- The ouster of Murtala Nyako no doubt brought some relief to the people of the state as the daily political permutation and altercation was abruptly brought to an end. But to a political science student, the development has opened a Pandoras box that will soon ignite political fire and setting ablaze many political forces in the state. The Acting Governor has a multi dimentional political interest to deal with and from what I am seing, Hon Fintiri may not be the political amateur some forces within the PDP think him to be. To begin with, the warmth reception which the Acting Governor gave to the sacked Commisioners, Special Advisers and other appointees of the ousted Governor tells a lot of his effort to douse tension and consolidate his grip on power. Most importantly, the engagement and support given to the current local government Chairmen and the desire to retain them is another aspect that makes me curious and I am still thinking in that respect. I am sure you are too. However, Hon Fintiri will have to deal with his interest to hold unto power with less crisis, the interest of the BMT wing of the PDP in their drive to enthrone Hon Auwal as the next Governor as well as the interest of the Nyakosiyas who are willing to work with him to take the state to the next level. Plus, the Ngilari factor! Lastly, it is apparent that with the reports coming from the INEC, Hon Fintiri will have to seek for the application of doctrine of necessity after the expiration of the three months that is constitutionally allowed. It seems we have to go back to our various school of thoughts to further study the sanctum and the innermost chamber of power politics of our beloved state.(to be continued).
