Again, Im impressed by my juvenile court client who rolled up her sleeves, did the work necessary, treated DHS workers with respect, accepted the criticism the system pointed at her and got her child back. Again, I tell you, the best work I ever do is when the client works hard. The hardest work I do is representing clients who either dont want to put in an effort to get their child back, or, who are so angry they cant quit venting that anger on the DHS workers or others in the process. Sometimes that anger is well deserved, but its never helpful. Sometimes the best lawyering is just pure and simple counseling: do the right thing for you and your child and that child will come back to you. Period.
