Again today I saw that inaccurate piece of video animation on FOX showing a Boeing 777 taking off. And again, Ive fired off another e-mail to Greta Van Susterens On the Record to complain about it: Greta: For the past couple of weeks or so, Ive been nagging your show in particular and Fox News in general about your use of an animation sequence of a Boeing 777 taking off. Ive pointed out in several e-mails and a posting on Fox News Channels Facebook page that the illustration is inaccurate in several respects. I received a reply to my first e-mail stating the hope that I was wrong, but since then, nothing. Surely you folks are as interested in being accurate in your presentation of this sad story as I am in being confident that what I see on Fox is as accurate as possible. For the sake of your viewers, Im urging you stop using this animation. As for my sake, Id like a response. Thanks for your attention. I know this may seem rather insignificant given the tragic nature of this story, but our news sources really are obligated to get it right. This includes all text and art accompanying their reports. Many in the aviation community feel the media in general are basically ignorant when it comes to aeronautical issues. Incidents like this only reinforce that skepticism.
