Ahhhh, sweet retirement. Just sitting back- watching the grass grow with a cold one in hand. Although I might mention preparitory for this I : -Raked the backyard of 12 bags of pinestraw (ugh) -Skin mowed it to the lowest height -Wet it down to loosen the baked soil -Raked it again with hard tines to pull up the thatch (ugh again) -Wet it down again -Aerated it with my neighbors pull behind plugger and his riding mower -Spread lime -Spread seed -Leveled and mixed all with my Bocce Court Zamboni Machine (piece of fencing with 2x4 ends I pull with a rope) -Spread starter fertilizer -Wet down all to start the germination process So I think those efforts qualified me for the aforementioned cold one initiative. Note: Being a home owner in Georgia with a fescue lawn is not for the: -Weak -Squeemish -Slackers Unless of course you are rich enough to hire someone, and skip straight to the cold one part :)
