Air quality has improved in North Carolina since the mid-1990s as U.S. and state regulations for heavy-duty truck engines, fuels and coal-burning generators were enacted. Levels of air pollutants started to drop and so did death rates. :) Whats that you say? Theyre just noticing this now? Its not quite that simple though.This study looks at high level polluters & would be more accurate than all those other studies that take a minor,hardly measurable pollutant & try to make it fit.(secondhand smoke comes to mind :) With most of those,finding harm from the odor of black socks would be as accurate. cbc.ca/news/health/cleaner-air-contributes-to-fewer-asthma-emphysema-deaths-1.2682916
