Alfred Hitchcock stands proudly in his and Almas beloved, custom and very expensive St. Charles kitchen, the centerpiece of their Bel-Air home on 10957 Bellagio Road. Long in the planning and completed while PSYCHO was being shot, when Hitchcock discovered that the kitchen was 3/8 smaller than he had specified, he had it torn out and completely redone -- at Universals expense. To be invited to dine in the Hitchcocks kitchen was an honor, the thing that told you that you were trusted and had become part of his and Almas inner circle, recalls costumer Rita Riggs.
