Alhamdulillah..Allah made the journey easy for us and we manage to find Tokyo Camii Masjid with much ease and without getting lost in translation. Thank you Allah for making us your guests in your home. Camii Masjid being the largest Masjid in Tokyo and in Japan which was first built in 1938 and then demolished and rebuilt in the year 2000. The building was built using funds collected and donated by majority of Turkish muslims who stay in Japan as well as the the healthy support by the government of Japan to allow the plot of land to be allocated for Muslim congregational prayers. Tokyo Camii is 734 square meters in area and has one basement floor and three above-ground floors with a total floor area of 1,477 square meters. Its main dome is 23.25 meters tall and is supported by six pillars, while the adjacent minaret is 41.48 meters tall. By far, there is a very strong ottoman architecture influence for its design and decor. The masjid reminds me of the architecture of masjids in Turkey. :) The basement floor is used as an area to teach about turkish culture and hosts public talks on Islamic studies in Japanese. They do sell resources on Islamic teachings but these are limited to Turkish language. However there are brochures and textbooks in Japanese language to educate those who want to know more about Islam distributed free of charge to visitors. :)
