All said and done........... the Yug purush and Lauha Purush, Gir - TopicsExpress

All said and done........... the Yug purush and Lauha Purush, Gir Ka Babbar Sher Narendra Modi with an outstanding mandate of 283 and a NDA tally of 336 also did not have the courage to be dynamic in appointing the first ever set of Cabinet Ministers. Appeasement albeit not of the Minorities this time, but with a difference has not changed its position. There were no indication of “new and bold thinking” in the selection of ministers. People like, Venkaiyah Naidu, Prakash Javdekar, Nitin Gadkari, Kalraj Mishra, Smriti Irani to name a few are quite non dynamic. Electoral losers like Smriti Irani or Arun Jaitley getting a place in the cabinet straight away is quite an interesting bold choice. The BJP had attacked the UPA for making Shivraj Patil the home minister after he lost the 2004 election. If electoral losers can find a place then obviously Shanawaz Hussein would have been a better, younger and dynamic choice as a Minister for Minorities affairs than 74 yrs old Najma Heptullah, unless ofcourse her being a Congress defector is being used to cock a snook at the Congress. Our dynamic Yug purush has inducted 8 Rajya Sabha members into the cabinet. Prakash Javdekar and Nirmala Sitaraman are NOT members of parliament at all, they will have to find their way into the Rajya Sabha within the next six months. Non-elected members can be appointed but that option is traditionally used to bring in super-talent from outside, not politicians from the party. Remember Satyanarayan Gangaram Pitroda popularly known as Sam Pitroda by Rajiv Gandhi? SO we will have as many as 10 ministers who will NOT be popularly elected members of parliament but nominated members of the Rajya Sabha. UPA II had 13 out of 71 in comparison to Modi sarkars 10 out of 46. That is UPA 18% Vs Modi Sarkar 22%.........is that such a big difference? Incidentally this party with a difference and promising dynamic changes to the Indian political landscape had gone after constantly criticising ONE person who was not elected by the people and was a Rajya Sabha member Dr MM Singh. His Rajya Sabha membership from Assam was also questioned as to how he could be from Assam. Now Prakash Javdekar and Nirmala Sitaraman will have to choose between Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. How Nirmala Sitaraman from Tiruchirappalli, TN and Prakash Javdekar from Pune, MH can become Rajasthani or Bhopali MPite will be interesting to note. LAST BUT NOT THE LEAST.......... the inclusion of Muzaffarnagar MP Sanjeev Baliyan charged with inciting violence in last year’s riots, is a telling reminder of the significance that a polarised polity carries for the BJP. BJP supporters will retort back with the argument that it is Modis prerogative who he chooses and he knows best.......... Well maybe......but I will concede that without argument.
