Alright, for those of you who wanted to know what I thought about - TopicsExpress

Alright, for those of you who wanted to know what I thought about The Elder Scrolls Online, heres my Twitter rant that I just posted: Alright, so... my impressions so far of The Elder Scrolls Online. Looks very, very good. On my very high-end system. Ive heard reports of dreadful lag from less-than-ideal setups, so beware. Voice acting is way, WAY better than anything Ive ever heard in an Elder Scrolls game before. Shit, John Cleese and Michael Gambon! Music is... bland and forgettable. At least what Ive heard so far. It *fits*, yes, but The Secret World it is definitely not. Gameplay wise, it plays like an Elder Scrolls game. If you liked Skyrim, youll feel at home here. Although its been dumbed down. Combat feels way less substantial than, lets say, Skyrim. Instances are free-for-all for whatever reason, so expect to see a LOT of people running around picking off enemies you wanna kill and grabbing loot from containers you were going for. And that sucks. I havent had the chance to explore properly yet - I still feel very locked into the current main quest (which I NEVER care about). Honestly? I... dunno if this will be fun in the long run. For me, the Elder Scrolls games are all about open worlds with no real goal. I just dont see a rigid quest system working out here. But I may participate in more betas, and I may yet change my mind. I will say this, though - I will never pay for a subscription. Sorry. I can totally pay a one-time fee for the game, but the sub kills it. It just doesnt feel like its worth it. But again, I may change my mind. And maybe theyll go free to play. Who knows. So, to sum up my REALLY long Twitter rant: 6/10. Decent, nothing exceptional. Not worth a paid subscription. Still has some issues.
