Alright my tech savy friends, I could use your help. It looks like I may be moving to a new apartment in the next couple of months but I REALLY need to keep my current phone number. I am currently with WOW! and I love them but have been told they cannot transfer my number because they do not provide service to where I am pretty sure I will be living. I called Time Warner and AT&T, both of whom provide service to the new place but cannot transfer my current number. Time Warner was very pushy sales wise and I did not get a good vibe from them at all. AT&T dropped my call and kept giving me conflicting information. So, this is what I think I should do. Drop cable altogether and just use my wifi to use my media streaming devices (Roku, etc). Find a provider for my internet service. And go with Magic Jack who, according to their website, says I can keep my current phone number. Do any of you use or know anything about Magic Jack? Is it reliable? Does it have good quality? Also, who in Columbus provides good, inexpensive internet service? I am definitely open to ideas and suggestions. As far as I know, the apartment complex I may be moving to only works with Time Warner and AT&T. I will call the property manager tomorrow to find out if anything else is available. Thank you in advance!
