Also visit: kiruthikaarun.blogspot.in/2013/06/sweet-kara-kuli-paniyaram.html Sweet & kara Kuli Paniyaram Ingredients: Idly Rice- 4 cups Urad dhal- 1 cup Methi seeds- few Green chilly-1 Jaggery- 1/2 cup Onion-1 Medium size (finely chopped) Curry leaves- few Oil- 1 tbsp Channa dhal- 1/2 tbsp Cashew- few Method: Soak Idly Rice,Urad dhal and methi seeds for 5-6 hrs, Grind it and make a fine paste. Separate the batter into 2 equal portions. Now take the 1st portion add jaggery and mix well so that the jaggery will dissolve completely in the batter. Now in a pan add 1 tbsp of oil, 1/2 tbsp of channa dhal, chopped green chilies and onions and saute well. To that add few curry leaves and salt as required and transfer the contents to the second half batter and mix well Now take the paniyaram pan add 1 tbsp of oil in each hole, once the paniyaram pan is hot, pour the batter (sweet and karam) in each holes and allow for 2-3 mins in medium flame, once the edges becomes golden brown in colour rotate the paniyaram using steel rod or using paniyaram stick, wait for another 3 mins so that the paniyaram becomes golden brown inn colour. Now our sweet and kara kuli paniyaram is ready to serve. Sweet paniyaram can be served as it is. For Kara Paniyaram prepare coconut chutney/ tomato chutney. Happy Cooking!!
