Although home now and in his favourite spot, his car boot, Jakey has had his huge one year check up at Montrose Vet with Dr Jason today. He had blood tests and X-rays as well as a physical examination. Jakeys blood are excellent and all within a normal range which is very pleasing. Physically he is in top shape and his examination showed no obvious signs of any problems whatsoever. Dr Jason is also very pleased with his general well being and his level of physical activity, especially around ball throwing time. :) The X-rays did however show up some obvious spots on his lungs that Dr Jason is concerned about. When we looked at the X-rays, these are clear. Dr Jason is going to compare Jakeys last X-rays with those from today and compare the results. Once we have a very clear idea of what we are dealing with we will decide how to proceed. It may be that further chemotherapy may slow down the rate of growth of these possible secondary cancers on his lungs, or chemotherapy may not help. We will not know any more until we have a confirmation from the X-rays today and we will know how to proceed. We do know that Jakey is happy, well and doing all the things he enjoys doing. We also know that every day with him is a blessing.
