Although it doesnt make sense, i know what he means. I was two days without internet last month. It will be so common well only notice its absence. Arent we already there? I dream at the day when internal combustion engines and steering wheels will disappear from all cars (hope will still be left a joystick or something for the passionate drivers). But that will be a longtime from now since i see all the time on the streets cars from the 70s and 80s putting out clouds of stinking smoke. For those who dont know, internal combustion engines at best (ideally or theoretically and that is not the case) have a 37% percent efficiency. Since we never knew this, it cannot disappear from our perception. This whole technology will disappear without us knowing about this enormity. Most steel engines have a thermodynamic limit of 37% en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internal_combustion_engine#Energy_efficiency About joystick on cars. Hope they will be more solid than my turn signal lever that broke once. What else. Mineral insulation from walls. This is going to take some decades as people dont realize yet its there so they can begin to start forgetting. Politicians have also disappeared as they do not pose any danger of hearing something real or new from them. TVs wont disappear since they still occupy one wall of the living and will be in our perception so we wont forget them. Bill Gates new reality pink coloring glasses will never be able to simulate a 4D resolution. Simply because theyd have to be 40D resolution to do that. For the current broadcasting resolution it might work but the trouble is you cannot wear one of those for lets say more than 15 minutes without getting sweat on the screen or something (for the same reason i cannot use headphones or micro-headphones for more than 30 minutes). No manufacturer that i know of will spend money to create those enhanced reality slices that will tell us how to use new items when unpacking them. Not in 50 years from now. Another trouble with enhancing reality is it spectacularly touches all kinda philosophical barriers although philosophy itself its not in any danger since this will only last about one weekend or its already gone (from our perception). Speaking about Bill Gates, have we forgot about him or not yet? If we wanted to make TVs disappear we would have to tear down the buildings, remove the insulation and make new ecological ones with TVs as wallpaper. The trees and clouds have disappeared a long time ago from our perception. I bet some people dont care for those. From my experience i can tell it takes a decade or two to even begin to start to look back at them. Same with ducks and geese other than in Oregon. Generally, anything that can be seen as a commodity can disappear since it can be replaced with money. But money will disappear too and be replaced first with cards than with bits residing in banks computer memories. But we cant forget about money, although some as me already did. Ourselves. Most likely we will be replaced with robots. For the transition phase, at least in Oregon we will be happy to be replaced with ninjas. With us will go away clothes, food, cars, TVs, again, houses and money and internet, this time for good.
