Alvin: Dog park in Lakewood...finally! (Press Telegram article link in comments) - The city’s first dog park is expected to be open by mid October. The City Council Tuesday night approved an agreement that was just finalized with Southern California Edison that will allow a two-acre dog park to be constructed on utility land at the northern edge of Rynerson Park, 20711 Studebaker Road. The site will included fenced areas for big and small dogs. The city hopes to begin construction on the park in the next few weeks and open the park by mid-October. The council allocated $75,000 in its two-year 2014-2016 budget, which was passed in June, to construct the new dog park.
