Am I alone in feeling like massive catastrophic generalized violence and brutality is a really bad idea here? Is it just naive that I dont want the US slaughter countless people in response to violence? Doesnt answering violence with more (and less discriminate violence) seem like its just perpetuating a hideous cycle? ISIS is a true horror. But it feels like the response of most of the folks canoeing for more war stems from taking these terrorist acts personally, and responding in a knee-jerk emotional way. One I totally understand, but I cant help but disagree with.
