Amazing dash cam footage of around ten large mountain ash gum trees being blown over during high winds. Bloody lucky nobody was hurt ! This is why I hate driving through heavily wooded areas on days of high wind. Our gum trees have massive canopies with very small and shallow root balls, which is why they fall over so easily. They also have thin branches with huge amounts of leaves at the end. This means in high winds there is great strain on the thin branches causing them to snap
