Amid persisting confusion over the circumstances surrounding the disappearance of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, China’s Premier Li Keqiang on Monday asked Malaysia to release “more detailed information,” amid rising anger from the relatives of the 154 Chinese nationals on board. Mr. Li on Monday spoke to his Malaysian counterpart Najib Razak on the telephone and asked him “to provide Beijing with more detailed data and information,” the official Xinhua news agency said. He said China wanted Malaysia to release information “in a timely, accurate and comprehensive manner.” Chinese State media outlets have criticised Malaysia’s handling of the search operations, and the several U-turns made by authorities releasing information. Eight Chinese vessels had spent the past week combing the waters of the Gulf of Thailand, northeast of Malaysia, where the aircraft last made contact in the early hours of March 8.
