An Appeal to the Authotities of Higher Education : Admissions for PG Courses in Kashmir University have begun and will be closed soon. Thousands of applications are received by University for various PG courses for very limited seats compared to the pass-outs. Very little percentage of these pass-outs gets admitted for courses in the varsity. More than 80 percent don’t. Those who fail to secure their admission either wait for one more year to appear again, which is like a nightmare for students. Some students lose hope and discontinue their studies. A percentage of students who can afford the costs of education leave the state or country to pursue further studies. What about the most of the students who fail or cannot afford ? There should be government intervention as a lot of students wish to pursue higher education and have the capability. (Rather Aashu)
