An Evening Reflection: Entering my dark office early this morning - TopicsExpress

An Evening Reflection: Entering my dark office early this morning I stepped on a cascade of light that had splashed onto my floor through the window. Immediately I knew that these bright beams were radiating from a full moon. I followed the streak across the carpet, looked out the window, and stared high into the western sky spotting the moon. In the morning sky the beams shone brightly against the black heavens. The bold light emanating from its source formed a perfect cross athwart in the heavens. For a few quiet moments I stood soaking in the wonder and majesty of God’s creation. Psalm 19:1 NIV came to mind, “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.” Washed in the rapturous moment I thought, not just the skies, but I too, am the work of His hands. I am a sinner, saved by grace by the nail scarred hands of Christ my Savior. His hands, ripped and bleeding were working to secure my salvation. Those nails, tore through his flesh binding Him to the cross, even though “His love would have held Him there” (Michael Card). God’s mangled hands working for my redemption, cleansing me of unrighteousness so that I could be born again. Everything I am in Christ is the work of His hands. If a silent sky can proclaim the “work of His hands” the let “everything that has breath praise the Lord” (Psalm 150:6).
