Dining In The Dark (DITD) is a unique setup that offers an extraordinary gastronomic experience. It’s not fair to compare DITD with other restaurants, nor there is any other restaurant that comes close resembling DITD (at least in KL / Malaysia), as DITD offers more than good food with interesting ambience. I was completely blown away by the DITD concept, from the moment I stepped into the compound with the welcoming aromatic candles, till the excellent end-to-end customer services, which in no small part played by the outstanding guide, Darius. Based on the food alone, I would already rate it 9 out of 10. Even in total darkness, I sensed the food is impeccably prepared with top-notch quality. With my wife, we were especially grateful for Darius whom ever so helpful to provide tips to enhance the tasting experience (thanks Darius!). Therefore, IMHO a perfect rating for DITD is well-deserved, even in the context of Michelin Guide three stars: Exceptional cuisine, worth a special journey (Une des meilleures tables, vaut le voyage). It’s a journey which takes at least 2 hours, & it’s every second well spent. We were there for our marriage anniversary, & I planned it as a surprise to my wife. She was pleasantly amazed & we were thankful to add this special moment into our memories. I always think that dining should be an interactive experience that transcends food & atmosphere. Therefore DITD provides the perfect setting for us to take a break from sensory distractions, in enjoyment of fine-dining affair & catch-up on things. As added bonus to the experience, we appreciate the philosophical discussion with Darius on physical beauty in a relationship.
