An encounter with technology: As a school administrator, I noticed that young people of today are very much engrossed into technology to the point that when given an assignment to copy on the board, surprisingly, they would put out their cellphone and take picture of it; given a topic for research they would surf on the internet rather than go to the library and look for the catalog of the book; when asked to write a formal theme they would asked the teacher if how many sentences will they write! I remember during my time given the same thing, I would asked : how many pages instead of how many sentences! Young people of today are too focused on the visual yet there are many good things that they failed to see; they failed to appreciate reading which made them imaginative allowing them to explore the world and become critical thinkers of informations.
