An old lady who lived in the ground floor of our building.. A stubborn journalist well known among her neighbors by causing mischief as she used to gather all the stray cats in the neighborhood and feed them.. The ground floor smelled like hell.. She let them live with her.. Literally.. Maybe out of loneliness.. Last week she fell while she wad having a walk in the street.. They carried her to her apartment.. They left her there totally paralyzed.. People say her door was left open for 3 days.. No one bothered to have a peek at her or check about her.. Yesterday when I arrived from work.. A woman came running saying the lady maybe dead.. I went in her apartment to find a putrid corpse staring at me..a corpse that was most probably left for 3 days.. In the same place they left her and went away... What was her last thoughts as she lay there motionless with her apartments door open? Was she waiting for anything? Maybe a robber who never came.. Or the grocery boy who lost the address... I dont know but I think the cats saw it all.. الله يرحمها و يغفر لنا
