And a leper came to Him and bowed down before Him, and said, Lord, - TopicsExpress

And a leper came to Him and bowed down before Him, and said, Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean. Jesus stretched out His hand and touched him, saying, I am willing; be cleansed. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed (Matthew 8:2-3, NASB). Jesus is always willing to cleanse us. Maybe because of shame or guilt youve been thinking that youre the one case that Jesus wouldnt be willing to cleanse. This leper wasnt sure that Jesus would have anything to do with him. You can hear the uncertainty in his words, Lord, if you are willing, You can make me clean. Jesus was instantly moved with compassion for this man and reached out and touched him saying, I am willing, be cleansed. Jesus is still the same compassionate Savior. Theres no area in your life that is beyond the ability of Him to touch and heal. This leper couldnt do anything to cure himself, all he could do was come to Jesus, but that was enough. Come to Jesus, just as you are. He has so much compassion for you, and Hes willing to cleanse you, to heal you. I cant help but think of the song that Billy Grahams Crusades always ended with: Just as I am, without one plea, but that Your blood was shed for me, and that You bid me come to You—O Lamb of God, I come, I come! Just as I am, You will receive, Will welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve; Because Your promise I believe, O Lamb of God, I come, I come! Pastor Mark, Calvary community Church
