And this: Wake schools operating on two-hour delay Jan. 15 All Wake County Public School System schools will open on a two-hour delay on Thursday, Jan. 15, due to possible icing of secondary roads and isolated areas overnights. The safety of our students, parents and staff remains our top priority. Buses may run behind schedule as drivers use extra caution. We ask parents to be patient. High school students should contact their schools to get information about the make-up schedule for final exams. When schools are delayed: • Before-school programs will start on a delayed schedule. • Breakfast may be served at the principals discretion if school is delayed one hour or more. • Athletic and extracurricular events will be canceled if school is closed or dismissed early.
