Angels Among Us Pet Rescue UPDATE: Alile IS at the vet being treated. We NEVER allow cats or dogs to suffer while we raise money. Shes receiving pain meds, antibiotics, fluids, & a fever reducer. Her bloodwork & xrays were good but she will need several days of hospitalization. We *think* at this point that her leg can be saved but nothing is definite yet. We will post a full update this evening. One of our volunteers will be visiting with her today and getting more information on her progress, as well as new pictures. Thank you all for your support!! URGENT!! Alile is just 6 weeks old and shes in trouble. Look at the size of her front arm. Its at least three times the size it should be. An Angels Among Us Pet Rescue - CATS volunteer noticed a mama cat and her young babies near a dumpster. One baby was off to the side all alone. The mom and the other babies wouldnt go near her. She went to investigate and the baby lay there crying in pain with an extremely swollen arm. She couldnt even move. The volunteer knew she MUST do something so she called us. And now WE must do something. The vet believes Alile was bitten by a snake or another animal on her paw and it became severely infected. It spread all the way up her arm and there are gas bubbles under the skin, indicating that the infection is VERY advanced. If we dont do something NOW, Alile will die. If the infection gets into her bloodstream, her chances of survival drop. Alile needs x-rays, bloodwork, IV antibiotics & fluids, pain medication, and hospitalization for several days until the antibiotics do their job. If they dont, she will need emergency surgery to amputate the arm before it spreads even farther. We are desperate to save this tiny little kitten. We cant let her life end before its even begun.
