Anonymous shares: I am not a biological mother of an Autism child but I am a stepmother to my stepdaughter of 4 years. She just turned 7 in August and I meet her when she was 2 1/2 y/o. I feel I cant say too much let alone anything when it comes to her autism bc Im the stepmom. My husband and I have a 4 year daughter who advanced very quickly such as learning her abcs at 18 months along with potty training too. My stepdaughter showed early signs of autism before I entered the picture and was tested and diagnosed at age 4 borderline autism. My stepdaughters mother, who we both have a respectful relationship towards each other, decided to hold her back and not have her start kindergarten till she was 6 years old and hardly any extra classes for her autism. I feel the mother is in denial and my husband and the mother rarely speak except when absolute necessary. Now my daughter mocks her sister unintentionally such as shaking her hands when shes telling a story or jumping up and down when excited/mad and I feel I have no control of this...
