Another deep, heartfelt thanks to Don Steinke for the generous donation I received today! I am so grateful to those who have offered help and support as we work to collect accurate data on every known nest in the eight county area. I spent another day in the field with one of my trusty volunteers...counting heads again, and finding a few more chicks missing. But we also watched a newly fledged chick make his way back to his nest in fine style, stuck the landing perfectly! Some others were flapping furiously...will go any day. Our little friend near the cell tower is doing well and her sibling has fledged also now. Both staying out of trouble. Apparently I have worn out my car window by opening it so much and mounting that scope on it...it seized up today, and wont open. Very frustrating.
