Another evening sitting on my balcony and contemplating life and marvelling at how blessed I have been. Will be celebrating another trip around the Sun next week. This song came to mind and the chorus says it all. Let me clarify that its not really autobiographical as I never stole a car, etc....lol. But in some ways in my life, like most, I have sometimes been a bit of a hot mess. I would be somewhat amiss, though, if I didnt give credit to two people mentioned in this song....Jesus and Mama. I remember that about a month before she passed away, I was feeding her in the dining room of the nursing home that she and Dad spent the last year of their lives. She had dementia. But, in a very unexpected lucid moment she looked at me and said, I always prayed for you. Hoping she would not see the tears in my eyes, I could only reply, I know that, Mama, and I know that is what has always got me through my life. Missing her, again, tonight. But, feeling so blessed that God gave me such a wonderful and loving mother. Yes, I sincerely know that my life would never have been the same without the knowledge that Jesus and Mama always loved me. What a true treasure.
